I've tried running it as administrator and in pretty much every compatibility mode there is, but I can't load the game. So I've got a super old copy of Heroes 3 Complete that I used to play all the time on Windows 98/Windows XP and I just installed it on my Windows 10 computer. The Autorun.exe file from the CD opens and blares the fanfare in my ears, I can open the map and campaign editors, but when I try to click 'Play' the autorun screen just disappears and nothing happens.Does anyone know a way to get the old physical copy of Heroes 3 Complete to run on Windows 10?. I tried uninstalling/reinstalling on different drives, making an image of my Play disk (which failed multiple times), loading with every compatibility setting, loading with forced single-monitor, loading with lower color settings, loading as administrator, loading from both my Blu-ray and DVD drives, loading while performing voodoo, and yeah absolutely nothing worked.So I went to gog.com, parted with $10, and it worked on the first attempt.
